ECMS is expanding and looking for instructors!

We particularly need instructors for voice and piano, but also have demand for violin (especially Suzuki method), guitar, bass, harmonica, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, autoharp, and bagpipes. Are you locally based and interested in working one or more afternoons/evenings a week during the after school and early evening hours? Ideal candidates would be able to stay on with us for a few years or more and build their studio as ECMS continues to grow our family friendly business.

Laurie currently teaches in the Fall Creek School District, directs the Squires Band at Messiah Lutheran School, and teaches piano and flute at Immanuel Lutheran High School and College.

BORA HONG-EVANS
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Bora Hong graduated from the top female music school in Seoul, South Korea in 2008. Along with performing in various musicals, TV shows, and music festivals, Bora has taught saxophone and piano to students of all ages and experience levels in academies throughout South Korea. Since moving to the Chippewa Valley, she has begun breaking into the local music scene sitting in with area groups/musicians as well as playing in the Eau Claire Municipal Band.

OLAF LIND
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Olaf began playing violin and viola at age four with the London Suzuki Group in England. His studies continued with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington DC. At 15, he joined the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra in Iowa, and spent the last two years of high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy. Olaf has played in the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra, numerous string quartets, and improvisational groups spanning rock 'n' roll, blues, and jazz.

MIKE NOYCE
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Mike is a Grammy winning, locally based musician who has recorded or toured with various Minneapolis/Eau Claire groups including Bon Iver, S. Carey, Gayngs, and Polica. Due to touring with Aeroflynn (featuring former Amateur Love front man Josh Scott) and recording his solo songs, Mike is only available for intermittent lessons on a month by month basis. Mike also does alternative lessons with a focus on home recording, guitar pedals, arranging for your band, or songwriting.

MARI CARLSON
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Mari has played violin since she was three. A Suzuki student herself, she teaches this method, along with fiddle and note reading. She has played with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and various Scandinavian fiddle ensembles. She currently plays with the Chippewa Valley Symphony and the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra. Mari helps lead the Young Fiddlers Association of Minnesota, an organization that sponsors monthly jams and workshops for kid fiddlers year-round.

ELIZABETH RANZENBERGER
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Elizabeth teaches 3rd/4th grade in Hallie. Prior, she taught 1st/2nd grade along with K-4 general music in Phoenix, AZ. She began teaching piano as a freshman in high school and found it to be one of her favorite things to do - blending her love of music with her love of teaching. She has participated in a local piano competitions, church bands, choir, and nursing home entertainment.

COLIN CAREY
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Colin has played drum set for 12 years, while in school he studied classical percussion, and played in multiple jazz ensembles. He currently plays in The Dust of Men, Rivers, and performs with the Chippewa Valley Symphony. His playing blends the dynamic touch of classical music with the rhythmic diversity of Jazz.

ADAM NUSSBAUM

Adam has played the drums for 20 years. He plays jazz, funk, R&B, rock, and gospel in several groups in the Chippewa Valley, including The Bug, Dames, The Shillelagh Lads, The Nick Foytick Band, and The Michael Rambo Project. He has also been a featured marimba soloist with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra (Indiana) and a member of the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra (Indiana).

LUKE OTTO
Music Lesson Instructor

 

A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, baritone Luke Otto is versed in operatic and classical singing. He has extensive experience both performing and directing musicals. With a lifelong interest in popular music, Luke’s knowledge extends further than the traditional concert stage. He has helped students achieve success in vocal competitions, stage productions, and even karaoke!

Amanda studied under Dr. Carolyn Britton and has taught private piano lessons to students of all levels since 2006. She especially delights in playing the works of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Beethoven. Amanda has a strong background in accompanying both instrumentalists and vocalists and loves performing in all types of settings.

LUCAS FISCHER
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Primarily a guitarist, Luke also performs on bass and drums. He has performed in many projects as a studio musician at Pine Hollow Audio and several of his own projects like Rhythm Posse, AcoustiHoo, Eggplant Heroes, and Code Blue. With influences from Nine Inch Nails to Django Reinhardt, Luke blends styles in innovative ways.

JEFF JAWORSKI
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Jeff is a practicing musician with over ten years of teaching and performing experience. Primarily a solo classical guitar performer, he has collaborated in the past with flute, bassoon, oboe, piano, guitar, and saxophone. Jeff's main interests are fundamental and classical guitar techniques, but he also has experience in popular styles and music theory (including reading music and tablature) making him a great fit for students wishing to learn any style.

RACHAEL MCILQUHAM
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Rachael has studied voice with Nicole Harper, Ron Buckles, and Elizabeth Petillot. She is the director of Eagle Show Choir at Eau Claire Memorial High School. She has not only participated in choral ensembles, but has also judged middle school ensemble festivals. She also teaches theater classes at the Eau Claire Children’s Theater.

Dean has been a cellist in community orchestras since high school, and has played with numerous traveling Broadway shows at the Weidner Center in Green Bay. He has backed up musicians as diverse as Smokey Robinson, Aaron Neville and Melissa Manchester. Currently, Dean is a member of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra.

ZENON WOJCIK
Music Lesson Instructor

 

Born in Hamburg, Germany to Polish refugees, Zenon arrived in the US in 1957. He was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, as a self-described "child of the 60's". Zenon attended a catholic school where he was introduced to the accordion. He stopped playing after college, but picked it up again around the turn of the century. In 2006, he formed a klezmer band.
